Optional Cloud Sync (Premium): If you opt-in, we store encrypted synchronization data
Usage Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics to improve the extension (can be disabled)

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide and improve Unified Search:

Synchronize your settings across devices (Premium feature, opt-in only)
Provide search history and export functionality
Improve user experience and fix bugs
We never sell your data to third parties

3. Data Storage & Security

Local-First Approach: All data is stored locally in your browser by default. Cloud sync is an optional premium feature.

Encryption: Cloud-synced data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard encryption (AES-256).

No Search Query Storage: We do not store your actual search queries on our servers. Queries are sent directly to AI providers you've chosen.

4. Third-Party Services

Unified Search interacts with third-party AI providers (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) that you choose to use. Each provider has its own privacy policy:

We do not share your data with these providers beyond what's necessary for the search functionality
Your queries are sent directly to the AI providers you select
We recommend reviewing each AI provider's privacy policy

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use minimal cookies for authentication and preferences. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used.

6. Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of your data
Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
Export: Download your search history anytime
Opt-Out: Disable analytics and cloud sync

7. Data Retention

- Local data: Stored until you clear browser cache or uninstall the extension
- Cloud sync data: Stored for the duration of your subscription, deleted 30 days after cancellation

8. Children's Privacy

Unified Search is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the extension or email.
